Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using URLert API, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for, accessing, or using URLert API (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and URLert API ("we", "us", or "our"), a sole proprietorship operated by Tomer Heber and based in Austin, Texas, United States.

You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

2. Description of Service

URLert API provides an AI-powered URL security analysis service that:

  • Analyzes URLs in real-time to detect malicious content and zero-day threats
  • Uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to assess URL safety
  • Provides programmatic access via API for automated security checks
  • Returns risk assessments and threat classifications

The Service operates on a pay-as-you-go model with transparent per-request pricing. You receive an initial $1.00 credit (50 requests) upon registration.

3. API Access and Authentication

3.1 API Keys

Access to the Service requires a valid API key. You are solely responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your API keys, passwords, and account credentials. We store only cryptographic hashes of API keys—never the keys themselves.

3.2 Account Security

You agree to:

  • Keep your API keys and credentials confidential
  • Not share your API keys with unauthorized parties
  • Immediately notify us of any unauthorized access or security breach
  • Accept full responsibility for all activities under your account

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain the security of your API keys or credentials.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

4.1 Permitted Uses

You may use the Service to:

  • Protect your applications, users, and infrastructure from malicious URLs
  • Automate URL security checks in your software systems
  • Enhance security measures in legitimate business operations

4.2 Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use the Service to:

  • Engage in any illegal activity or facilitate illegal conduct under United States law or the laws of your jurisdiction
  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or discover the source code of the Service
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other technical restrictions of the Service
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service without authorization
  • Use the Service in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair our infrastructure
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code through the Service

4.3 Rate Limits

The Service enforces rate limits on a per-account and per-organization basis. Excessive use that violates these limits may result in temporary or permanent suspension of access.

5. Data Collection and Use

5.1 Information We Collect

When you use the Service, we collect:

  • Account information: Email address and password (stored as a hash)
  • URLs and analysis data: URLs submitted for checking and their results
  • Usage data: API request logs, timestamps, and metadata
  • Technical data: IP addresses and authentication logs (retained for approximately 180 days)

Note: While most URLs contain only public website addresses, URLs may inadvertently contain personally identifiable information embedded in the URL string. You are responsible for ensuring submitted URLs do not contain sensitive personal information.

5.2 How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

  • Provide the Service and process your API requests
  • Train and improve our AI models and threat detection capabilities
  • Analyze usage patterns and optimize system performance
  • Detect and prevent abuse or fraudulent activity
  • Comply with legal obligations

Data you submit (URLs and analysis results) may be used indefinitely to train our machine learning models. Since we analyze publicly accessible URLs, we do not anonymize this data before training.

5.3 Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate URLert API:

  • Google Cloud Platform (Vertex AI/Gemini): AI/ML processing and hosting
  • MongoDB: Database storage
  • Stripe: Payment processing (we do not store payment information)

5.4 Data Sharing

We do not currently share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We reserve the right to share data:

  • With your explicit consent
  • With service providers under confidentiality obligations
  • To comply with legal requirements or law enforcement requests
  • To protect our rights, property, safety, or that of our users
  • In connection with a business transfer or acquisition

5.5 Your Rights

You may request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us at support@urlert.com. Please note that data incorporated into trained AI models may not be fully removable.

5.6 Complete Privacy Information

For complete details about our data practices, retention policies, international data transfers, and your privacy rights, please review our Privacy Policy.

6. Billing and Payment

6.1 Pricing

The Service operates on a pay-as-you-go basis. See our pricing page for current rates. Pricing is subject to change with reasonable notice.

6.2 Credits and Billing

  • New accounts receive a $1.00 starting credit
  • Requests consume credits from your account balance
  • You may add funds at any time through our payment system
  • Pricing is displayed in United States Dollars (USD). Payment processing is handled by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, which may process charges in your local currency

6.3 Refund Policy

All credit purchases are final and non-refundable. Please review our Refund Policy for complete details.

6.4 Insufficient Funds

If your account balance is insufficient for a request, the API will return an error. We do not provide credit or allow negative balances.

7. Service Availability and Performance

7.1 No Service Level Agreement

We strive to maintain high availability and performance but do not guarantee any specific uptime or service level. The Service is provided on an "as available" basis without any Service Level Agreement (SLA).

7.2 Maintenance and Downtime

We may perform scheduled or emergency maintenance that temporarily interrupts the Service. We will attempt to provide reasonable notice when possible, but are not obligated to do so.

8. Limitations of AI-Based Analysis

8.1 Nature of AI Technology

The Service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to analyze URLs. AI systems are not perfect and may produce:

  • False positives: Marking safe URLs as malicious
  • False negatives: Failing to detect actual threats
  • Inconsistent results: Different assessments for similar content

8.2 No Guarantee of Accuracy

We make no warranties or guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of our threat detection. The Service should be used as one component of a comprehensive security strategy, not as the sole means of protection.

8.3 Your Responsibility

You are responsible for evaluating the Service's results and making your own security decisions. We are not responsible for any security breaches, data loss, or harm resulting from reliance on the Service's analysis.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Our Rights

All rights, title, and interest in the Service, including all intellectual property rights, remain the exclusive property of URLert API and Tomer Heber. This includes:

  • The API, algorithms, and underlying technology
  • AI models and threat detection methods
  • Documentation, logos, and branding
  • Any improvements or modifications to the Service

9.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service solely for its intended purpose in accordance with these Terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties regarding accuracy, reliability, or availability
  • Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
  • Warranties that defects will be corrected

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, URLERT API AND TOMER HEBER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
  • Business interruption or system failures
  • Security breaches or data loss resulting from use of the Service
  • Damages arising from reliance on Service results or AI analysis
  • Damages caused by third-party content or actions

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless URLert API, Tomer Heber, and our affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use or misuse of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any security breach caused by your failure to protect your credentials

13. Termination

13.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, any remaining credits will be forfeited and are non-refundable.

13.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
  • Non-payment or chargebacks
  • Any reason or no reason, with or without notice

13.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your access to the Service will be immediately revoked
  • All licenses granted under these Terms will terminate
  • Any outstanding balances must be paid immediately
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive will remain in effect

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any legal action or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.

15. Dispute Resolution

15.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at support@urlert.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will work with you in good faith to reach a resolution.

15.2 Arbitration

If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, any controversy or claim shall be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted in Austin, Texas, or remotely via video conference.

15.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that any arbitration or legal proceeding shall be conducted on an individual basis only and not as a class action, consolidated action, or representative action.

16. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on the Service. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

17. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

18. Export Compliance

The Service may be subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations. You agree to comply with all applicable export and import laws and not to export, re-export, or transfer the Service to any prohibited countries, persons, or entities.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Refund Policy and Privacy Policy (when published), constitute the entire agreement between you and URLert API regarding the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, understandings, or communications.

20. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced with a valid provision that most closely matches the intent of the original.

21. Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of that provision or our right to enforce it in the future.

22. Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction. Any attempted assignment in violation of this section is void.
